Welcome to The Appliance Whisperer. By using our website (www.the-appliance-whisperer.com) or submitting a contact form, you agree to the following terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to read and review these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.

1. Services Provided

The Appliance Whisperer offers professional installation, repair, and maintenance services for home appliances in Ottawa and surrounding areas. Our website provides information about our services and includes a contact form that allows customers to request and schedule appointments, subject to confirmation.

  • 2. Appointment Requests

  • Customers can submit a contact form on our website to request an appointment or inquire about our services. While submitting a form may lead to scheduling, appointments are confirmed only after we respond to verify availability and service details.

  • Customers can also schedule appointments by calling our phone number (613)-800-9948.

  • Service call fees are determined by location and will be provided once the customer reaches out.

3. Service Call Fee & Repair Process

  • The cost of the service call is determined by location and will be provided upon request. This fee includes our visit to assess your appliance and provide a repair quote.

  • If you want to go ahead with the repair, you will only pay the quoted amount, which includes labor and any necessary parts (we use only premium quality parts). No additional service call fee will be charged.

  • If you need time to decide, the service call fee will be due during our visit. The quote we provide is valid for 2 weeks. If you proceed with the repair within that time, the previously paid service call fee will be deducted from the total cost. After 2 weeks, the service call fee is no longer deductible.

  • If we diagnose two appliances in the same visit, the second appliance will receive a $30 CAD discount from the service call fee.

  • Any damage of any kind related to our services must be reported within 24 hours of the service appointment.

  • Service call and labor fees are non-refundable. Parts that have not been installed may be refundable, subject to restocking fees. Parts that have already been installed are not refundable.

  • All prices quoted are before applicable taxes.

4. Cancellations & No-Show Policy

  • You may cancel or reschedule an appointment up to 3 hours before the scheduled time.

  • If you fail to cancel within this timeframe or no one is home at the time of the appointment, the full service call fee will be charged.

5. Callback Policy

  • A callback is considered valid only if the exact same issue, as originally reported at the time of scheduling, persists.

  • If a different issue arises (whether on the same appliance or another one), a new service call fee will be charged.

6. Warranty & Liability

We provide a 90-day warranty on all repairs performed by our technicians. This warranty period begins from the date the repair is completed. Should the same issue recur due to defects in our workmanship or the parts we've supplied within this 90-day period, we will promptly address and resolve the issue at no additional cost to you.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damages caused by misuse, negligence, or accidents.

  • Repairs attempted or conducted by unauthorized persons.

  • Issues unrelated to the original repair.

To request warranty service, please contact us immediately and provide proof of the original repair.

Appliance Installation Warranty:

  • 30-day warranty covering leveling, electricity connections, drain hose, and water line only.

  • Any other issues such as dents, cosmetic damage, or operational problems must be covered by the manufacturer.

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from appliance failures, delayed repairs, or misuse. Customers are responsible for maintaining their appliances according to manufacturer guidelines.

7. Payment Terms

  • Payment for services is due upon completion of the repair. We accept cash, e-transfer, cheque (no fee), or credit/debit card (2.4% processing fee).

  • Customers who refuse to pay or delay payment without justification may be referred to a third-party collections agency. In such cases, additional fees or interest charges may apply.

9. Waivers of Liability

9.1. Waiver of Damages When Working with Water

Appliances connected to plumbing systems carry inherent risks of leaks or flooding due to component failure or imperfect connections, potentially causing substantial damage. Except in cases of proven gross negligence by our technician, you agree to release The Appliance Whisperer from any liability arising from such incidents. By permitting our technician to begin work, you expressly waive any claims against us related to these risks.

9.2. Waiver of Damages from Failed Cooling

Refrigeration equipment consists of complex components that may fail unexpectedly. Servicing or repairing these components involves inherent risks, and even meticulous repairs can result in equipment malfunction. Such failures may lead to food spoilage, discomfort, inconvenience, and potential revenue loss. By requesting our services, you acknowledge these risks and agree to hold The Appliance Whisperer harmless from any related consequences. By allowing our technician to commence work, you expressly waive any claims against us concerning these risks.

9.3. Waiver of Damages from Appliance Movement

Our technicians will always do their best to leave the workspace as clean and intact as it was before. However, some jobs require moving appliances, which may inadvertently cause marks or damage to floors, walls, or surrounding areas. By ordering our service, you acknowledge and accept that The Appliance Whisperer and its technicians will not be held liable for such incidental damage. We will, however, take every precaution to prevent it.

10. Privacy Policy

When you submit a contact form, we collect personal information (such as your name, phone number, and email) to respond to your inquiries. We do not share or sell your information to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

11. Changes to These Terms
